Haggis
Bagpipes Haggis
"Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain O' the puddin' race"
Haggis - the national dish of Scotland and immortalised by the 18th century poet Robert Burns. A legendary and mystical dish with an ancient history.
Every year on 25th January, the anniversary of Burns' birth, haggis is served at commemorative suppers all over the world after the famous "Address to the Haggis" is recited.

We sell haggis made by Macsween's of Edinburgh. They are renowned for the quality of their haggis which is made to a traditional family recipe using lamb, beef, oatmeal, onion and a secret blend of seasonings.
It is already cooked and simply needs re-heating in the oven, in simmering water or in the microwave.
Traditionally it is served with mashed potatoes and turnip or swede with a wee dram or two!

See our Scottish cheese selection for some ideas to accompany the dish.
